Meet the Designers

In 2002, best friends Jenn and Michele designed their very first vintage-inspired dress, aptly named "The Madigan" after Michele's oldest daughter (who now works for the company!). That one little dress's success blossomed into their boutique line, Hopscotch Designs.  This first line featured handmade children's dresses and separates, all inspired by their own kids!

Jenn and Michele’s journey was marked by valuable learning experiences, occasional challenges, and remarkable triumphs. As the market changed, so did the designs Michele and Jenn we're looking to create. So in 2012 they left behind the previous looks of Hopscotch Designs and started designing the fabulous looks of their new company, Magpie & Mabel!

In 2018 Magpie & Mabel morphed into what is now, Vignette.

From humble beginnings selling at local farmer's markets to winning prestigious awards like the Earnie for Best Girl's Collection, to seeing their dresses carried by Anthropologie's BHLDN, the journey of building Vignette has been an exhilarating adventure.

Driven by their passion and creativity, Michele and Jenn transformed Vignette into a brand dedicated to stylish, affordable clothing for today’s girls. Inspired by their daughters and all little girls who dream big, they design clothes for every moment--from casual beach days to wedding attire, to trendy separates and adorable basics, Vignette does it all. Vignette's designs timelessly reflect a commitment to raising curious, strong, and independent daughters, with an emphasis on adventure, moxie, and fun.
